ON DISC - Taking Back Sunday

Taking Back Sunday has found a successful formula.

The band’s new album, Louder Now, is the follow-up to its 2004 release Where You Want To Be, and just like it, Louder Now features strikingly similar energized emo-rock songs — with just a little more grit.

The album is packed with typical TBS tracks full of quick riffs and the shrill vocals of singer Adam Lazzara and guitarist Fred Mascherino.

And as always, Lazzara emotes an arsenal of juvenile yet sincere lyrics on tracks such as “MakeDamnSure.”

Despite TBS’ ease of accessibility to young audiences, Louder still has heart, and does not come across as cheap rock-pop.

Fans of the band’s previous work will likely accept Louder. However, anyone looking for something new and exciting will find this album a bit of a let down.
