JLC hits the big
time
Now that the John Labatt Centre has had some
time to settle into its London home and residents have had
time to get used to the fact there is a huge new venue in town,
it’s time to take a look at what the JLC has added to
the Forest City.

People like to discuss their jobs, so it’s
no surprise journalists like writing about journalism. I guess
the next logical step as a journalist is writing a column about
journalists writing about journalism — but now I’m
so confused I need a nap and possibly a hot toddy.

a new standard for waste

It doesn’t take long for someone watching
Canada’s Gov. Gen., Adrienne Clarkson, to practically
smell the arrogance she exudes. Nor does it take much thought
for one to realize how useless and wasteful her position is
to the country.

When Belinda Stronach entered the race to
be leader of the newly merged Conservative Party of Canada
almost two months ago, she was immediately ripped apart by
the media and party stalwarts on her political inexperience,
scripted and wooden media responses, and perhaps most crucially,
her inability to speak French.
