Homecoming game a must-win for Mustangs
There's no better way to pump up a rowdy Homecoming crowd than
with a great game of football.
Football and Homecoming are two events that seem synonymous
and with this year's Homecoming expected to be one of the biggest
ever, Western alumni, staff and students are all expecting an
equally big football game this Saturday against the Ottawa Gee-Gees.

Outside the Western gates
Below is what happened in the world of professional sports
last week:

Once upon a time: Field of Dreams
"If you build it, they will come."
That well-known line of dialogue is what most people remember
about the 1989 classic Field of Dreams. Directed by Philip Alden
Robinson and starring Kevin Costner and James Earl Jones, Field
is a story about an Iowa corn farmer named Ray Kinsella (Costner),
who starts hearing voices. Kinsella interprets the enigmatic
message as a command to build a baseball field in the middle
of his corn crops.

Interuniversity Sport has long history
at Western
After 125 years, Western is obviously a school rich in history
and tradition.
A large part of that history lies in sport. Sports have been
a huge part of life at Western and in the City of London for
many years.

No slowin' down for Mustangs'
Drew Soleyn
Running back controls punishing
ground game
Drew Soleyn is hella tough.
"Drew is probably our toughest guy," says Mustangs
head coach Larry Haylor. "Pound for pound, ounce for ounce,
he's as tough a football player as there is in Canadian Interuniversity
Sport."

Korman
looks to build on past success
Fourth place finish just a start
for 2003
Ashley Korman can't wait to start this year's cross country
season.
Head coach Bob Vigars describes Korman as a refreshing young
athlete with a good attitude and flavour for life. When Korman
first tried out for the team, coaches didn't know what to expect.

Boydell:
His father's son
Growing up in northern New Jersey, Western Mustangs men's basketball
coach Craig Boydell was instantly thrust into the world of athletics.

Letters from the Edge:
Clemens: You've got mail
On the DL
Dear Roger Clemens,
If you ever watched the cartoon "South Park," you might be
familiar with a phrase the portly Cartman often said to the
poverty-struck Kenny: "God, I hate you Kenny."

Hooked on Mustangs works for me
"Yeah, I'm excited. Yeah, I'm going to get drunk. Yeah, Western
is going to kick some ass."

Marijuana still banned
LONDON (AP) - Romanian gymnast Andreea Raducan paid a heavy
price for listening to her doctor and taking a common cold tablet
during the 2000 Sydney Olympics. She was stripped of a gold
medal.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
The Western Mustangs basketball team hit the hardwood on Friday
night when they play in their annual Alumni Game at 7:30 p.m.
at Alumni Hall. Former players will return to their old stomping
grounds to try and beat the pulp out of the current squad. Who
said old guys have got no game?
