Tyler Done on his
Idol journey
Now that the show is over and the final call
has been made, The Gazette decided to head back a few
months in Idol history and chat with one of the guys
who almost made it... but not quite. Western's own Tyler Done
took a few minutes to talk to us about his experience with Canadian
Idol.

Malcolm triumphs!
After months of deliberating, through the
process of eliminating 15,000 hopefuls down to one soul survivor,
Canadian Idol is over. And contrary to the signs created in
Gary Beals's hometown of Halifax reading "Harry Potter's Going
Down," Ryan Malcolm managed to come out on top. His mix of Billy
Joel and "W8r Boi" qualities appealed to the majority of the
3.3 million voters who called in Monday night.

Stuff you can do tonight!
NXNE meets Western
The North By Northeast Music Festival and
Conference takes some up-and-coming musical acts on the road
for some shows across Ontario campuses - and it's all free.
Indie hip-hoppers Brassmunk, rockers Micro Maureen and Round2
will be playing The Spoke tonight, but if those don't really
interest you, the Roadshow will also include Kickass Karaoke
which skips the overdone "I Will Survive" and "Respect" karaoke
staples and instead, includes selections by The Strokes, No
Doubt, Stone Temple Pilots, Ja Rule and Beastie Boys.
