Mustangs schooled by Marauders on home floor

Despite their recent slide, the Western Mustangs men's basketball team is staying positive and confident...

The holiday hiatus took its toll on the Mustangs women's basketball team Wednesday night at Alumni Hall.

While Western students were participating in incessant debauchery and stuffing their faces with holiday goodness, the Mustangs men's hockey and basketball teams were shoring up their weaknesses during a holiday exhibition schedule.

Despite the fact that the season for giving thanks is drawing to a close, like so many students before me, I'm going to have to ask the powers that be for an extension.

Welcoming the world

For nine days in the summer of 2006, London, Ontario will be the centre of the field lacrosse world.

On Dec. 17, it was announced that London would be the host city of the 2006 World Field Lacrosse Championships, beating out some reputable cities such as London, England and Melbourne, Australia.

Over the holiday break, the Western women's soccer team added a new look to their head coaching position with the promotion of former assistant coach Mike Van Bussel, who replaced former boss Mark Eys. Van Bussel takes over a very talented team that made it to the Nationals this past year.

The Gazette talked to the new coach and asked him about his upcoming challenges.
