![]() CD REVIEW: Cradle 2 the Grave Soundtrack Cradle falls! Various
Artists Cradle 2 the Grave: Original Soundtrack Bloodline Records Rundown: With the advent of the new Jet Li/DMX movie, it's not surprising that there is an accompanying soundtrack from the rapper's label. The soundtrack is meant to showcase the label's up-and-coming "talent," but has nothing to do with the film's plot. The heavyweights on the Cradle 2 the Grave have to carry enough heat to balance out the lightweights' sub-par performances. Key Tracks: Creativity and diversity are missing from this soundtrack. Heavy-hitters such as DMX, MOP, 50 Cent and Clipse save this uninteresting soundtrack from being a complete bomb. 50 Cent's "Follow Me Gangster" and DMX's "Right/Wrong" are both worthy trunk-thumpers. Sounds Like: The soundtrack is filled with redundant, simplistic themes that have all been done before. Eminem also needs to settle down his hyperactive flow on "Go to Sleep," as he comes across as a young boy having a temper tantrum rather than an angry gangsta trying to sound menacing. This is a mediocre soundtrack, and probably isn't worth your $20 unless you're a hardcore DMX fan. Darren Glowacki |
