THEATRE REVIEW: Proof
Some Proofs just don't work

Despite the efforts of a talented cast, this Proof just doesn't add up.

The Grand Theatre's latest production of Proof, a story by David Auburn, focuses on the unique relationship between mathematical genius/father Robert (Keith Dinicol) and his emotionally unstable daughter Catherine (Deborah Pollitt). After succumbing to mental instability, Robert passes away.

While this romantic comedy attempts to describe losing a guy, it is much more successful at losing an audience.

If Sharon Bauer has her way, the "V" word on everyone's lips this week will be "vagina."

"When I say the word, I feel it makes me stronger," Bauer said.

The second-year philosophy student is the woman behind Western's all-student production of Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues.
