Paper cubes and coasters are the focus of a campus safety program this year at Western.

Nicole Nelson, VP-campus issues for the University Students' Council, is using cube-shaped paper notepads with the slogan "Love Safely; Care for your friends" as well as coasters that read "Watch your drink" as a method of raising campus awareness on sexual assault and date rape.

Queer support line aims to help student body

A new initiative by the University Students' Council will offer support for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered students.

According to Nicole Nelson, VP-campus issues for the University Students' Council, an unofficial Board of Directors meeting will be held today in order to determine if there is a location available for a support telephone line called Queerline.

Universities across the country have realized that if they do not maintain a good relationship with alumni, it can hurt their pocketbooks.

The cost of a university education in Canada will balloon to $123,644 in the next 20 years, according to a recently released report.

On Apr. 17, 2002, a United States F-16 pilot dropped a 225 kilogram bomb on Canadian soldiers engaged in training exercises in Kandahar, Afghanistan.

This action resulted in the death of four Canadian soldiers – eight more were severely wounded. Both Canada and the United States set up military inquiries to discover what factors contributed to the horrible and accidental tragedy.

Student leaders claim recent tuition study is flawed

Student leaders are critical of a government report which states rising tuition over the past decade has not affected university enrollment.

Education loves being changed and the USC loves changing education.

In the upcoming months, Josh Morgan, VP-education of the University Students' Council, plans to undertake a large consultation process to update and revise the USC's education policy, which has not had been altered since 1999.
