CD REVIEW: Bon Jovi
Same ol' Bon Jovi

Bon Jovi
Bounce
Island/Def Jam

Rundown: With Bon Jovi's latest release, Bounce, the band that never dies proves they still have what it takes to pound out the tunes. Despite being somewhat bland, Bounce boasts a roster of solid tracks. There are no unpleasant surprises on the new album, nor are there any exceptional moments.

Key Tracks: As the tracks are all fairly generic, nothing on the album really differentiates itself from the rest. "Undivided" is classic Bon Jovi, mixing pseudo-heavy riffs with Jon's characteristically rough vocals. In "Everyday," Bon Jovi's simplistic lyrical style is exemplified in full: "Hear me when I say, gonna live my life everyday."

Sounds Like: Soft rock with some catchy hooks. Basically, it's pretty simple: if you're a fan of Bon Jovi, you'll like the new album. If you don't like the band, you won't like Bounce. If, however, you've never heard of Bon Jovi, then you can successfully congratulate yourself for having avoided one of the staples of mainstream radio.
