Days of Reaney's plays

From now until Nov. 30, two plays written by James Reaney will be performed at the Grand's McManus Theatre by the renowned Ausable Theatre troupe.

Reaney is a well-known playwright, poet and short story writer. He is a Western English professor emeritus and is a member of the Order of Canada.

The two plays are The Story of the Gentle Rain Co-op and One Man Masque .

"I liked the idea of doing contrasting works," said Ausable's artistic director Jeff Culbert. One Man Masque is an old, established play, performed by only one person, while The Story of the Gentle Rain Co-op is being performed onstage for the first time, Culbert added.

All performances will be at 8 p.m., except for one at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24. The tickets are $15, aside from the performance on Nov. 27, when attendees can pay whatever they can afford.
