Focus (formerly Features)

The focus section has the most versatility, ranging from investigative and informative stories to personality profiles and trend analyses. A story may relate to Western or London; it's only limited to your own imagination. These stories have more depth, breadth and colour, and more room for creativity than standard news stories.

Remember to spend time on research and interviews and be thorough when doing research. Talk to many different people when doing a story so you can get different viewpoints. A story can – and usually does – have three or four sides to it.
